First off I went to Las Vegas for a Optical show, Left early on Thursday Oct.1st and even though I only live 4 hours away for me to be gone for 2 days is huge. My kids were great they took care of my mom who is 85 and needs daily help. (she lives alone). I will say she is a trooper, She was happy I was getting away but in every same breath she kept saying please be careful don't get hurt , but have FUN.
I haven't been to Vegas in such a long time and boy has it changed. Busy Busy Busy. I didn't know so many people could come out of the wood work. The optical show was great even though we didn't learn anything new but it was fun to see some of the new eyewear coming out . Beautiful and stunning , we can't wait to get some of the new frames we ordered.

Work has been very busy and as we feel very lucky that we have been steady in business but it's still hard on a 3 girl optical shop. Our Boss is grateful for all we do and I'm sure thats why he sent us to Vegas to de stress.
Today being Saturday and I made myself a PROMISE to get caught up on Blogs and Email and of course watch some Football and Baseball Playoffs and eat things I normally would not.
Doesn't that sound like a perfect day.
I might even fit in working on Photoshop since it is so hard and I'm having alittle trouble understanding this new program.

]]>Took Mom to the doctor and she has lost 24 LBS . The Doctor feels that this is normal for someone who has had a trauma to her system , I know she is 85 but I hate to see her this way. This week I have been going to her everyday and sometimes twice a day bringing her dinner and trying like hell to get her to eat.
Thank God she has a sense of humor.. we have been doing alot of laughing about hwants them fixedow after work I'm so tried that I still haven't fixed her glasses. She asked me to quit working so hard but work a little harder on fixing her glasses or picking out a new pair we both had to laugh. To think I must have 1000 pairs of glasses in the shop from Dior to chanel to Gucci and I just got Pucci..and lets not forget good old Prada. and Fendi..With all those designer Glasses she loves her glasses and just wants them fixed.. Oh to be 85 and not care about anything except waking up the next day.

]]>I received a special gift today, I got something from my bucket list. If you not sure what a bucket list is let me explain. Everyone has something that they want and they hope to have in their lifetime.
One of mine was the Nikon D90 Camera. I received my Nikon today as a gift from my boss who I have worked with for the past 30 years. I can tell you that I feel like a child on Christmas Morning I even have butterflies just knowing it's mine.
The Camera is Beauitful and everything I thought it would be.
The last few months have been very stressful so I feel that this will be a good outlet for me.
Sue got me the book (Nikon D90 for Dummies) I know it will help me with all the how to's..

]]>When I entered the house a feeling I can't explain came over me and I found her in her bedroom barely breathing but she was breathing and the moment she saw me all she could say was my name. At some point she had fallen and and was stuck between her bed and the night stand. I called 911 and called my son who came right over. It wasn't a stroke Thank god but it was her lungs and we had to put her on life support to give her lungs a chance to heal. We didn't think she would make it through the night.
5 days later they took her off life support and she started breathing on her own. I can't believe it at 85 just how tough she is. Well I take that back she has always been my Hero. My mom has more wisdom then anyone I know.
Now it's may 19th and she is home and has been for about 5 days , This bout has taken is's toll on her .
Mom is very confused and her short term memory is not doing to well in fact as of today it's shot to hell... but she's trying. I thank God for everyday I have with her. The Doctor feels her mind will get better as she gets stronger .. I hope that is soon. Mom lives alone .. My Dad passed away about 3 years ago. and My sister and Brother passed away 6 years ago.. Where does the time go. I sure do miss them and could really use there help right now.
I miss how happy she was when we'd go to lunch and shopping. I miss her giving me her 2 cents worth every time I turned around. I Miss her laugh and her smart ass jokes.
I hope she gets stronger soon.. I pray her mind gets as strong as her soul.
I hope I have her for a long long time

My kids were gone so I could watch what I wanted eat what I wanted and I'm even reading.
